“Sueño”, one of his latest production has reached the top spot of four different Dutch charts, therefore paving the way for Amsterdam based producer Niels de Vries. As a DJ he also earned his credits. His sound, a mixture of groove- and electro house is energetic, uplifting and innovative.

Niels de Vries was born on March 16, 1977. He became infected to the music virus at an early age. He pushed every button on his father’s amplifier to make sure the radio was on the right wavelength. “This is what I want” was what he found out during the years of iT and Roxy. Niels saved money to buy two Technics decks and a second-hand mixer. On his attic-room he practiced everyday with the same two records but in no time his record collection was growing immense.

The year 2000 was the official kick-of for Niels’ professional DJ-career. He started out at the smaller parties like “Innerspace” ( Utrecht), “Forever After” and “ Latido”. It didn’t take long before he moved on to spinning the wheels in big clubs like “Escape”, “Lexion”, “Hemkade”, “More” and “Monza”. Currently Niels is one of the headliners of Marcella’s club night “Planet House”. Niels’ popularity in The Netherlands started to cross the boarders, giving him a monthly residency in Poland and lots of bookings in Spain, Greece, France, Germany and Belgium.

As mentioned before Niels combines his DJ-career with producing. In 2005 he got signed by well-known Dutch dance imprint Zzap Records, who released his track “12 Inch”. The vinyl was picked up all over the world, especially the UK and Germany. It was followed up by “Untill U Drop”, which was available as a download only.

Niels released his hit “Sueño” on January 12 th of 2007, again on Zzap Recordings. The b-side contains and exclusive Miss Monica remix. “Sueño” entered the “make or break” competition on leading Dutch radio station 538 and the listeners voted to make the record with a smashing percentage of 82,7%. Next to this the record is at # 1 in charts like: Dance Trends Top 30, Mega Dance Top 30, Clubbin’ Slam Dance 30 and Dance-Tunes download top 10. “Sueño” has already been released abroad as well, the biggest label of France, “Royal Flush” released the track at the end of February.
